GM Workshop: How to Run Horror

The rumbling of the tumultuous lighthouse ebbs away as the moving stone settles into its new shape, the sconces from the floor above casting paltry glimmers of light down into the stony, dim floor of Solitary Confinement. What felt at first like rampant upheaval is replaced with steady, heavy breathing from the darkness surrounding you. On closer inspection and as the light adjusts, you can make out barred doors that seem to have been bent and thrown off their hinges. What do you want to do?

Have you ever felt like running horror rpgs, but had a hard time knowing where to turn the screws in a session? Join us on Wednesday, June 17th at Tableflip Games and you’ll workshop a generic OSR dungeon with horrors that are anything but average. We’ll talk through safety tools, genres of horror, pacing, personal impact and more as you decide what shape the horrors take, then playtest what you’ve built.
